A gathering for sisters by sisters where you can join us in a gathering of remembrance and reflection with recitation of the Qur'an, Salawat, Anasheed and Dua. All in the company of friends and angels.
Khidma are proud and excited to launch a monthly gathering for sisters. Join our circle and partake in regular remembrance, be inspired by female scholars, speak about the pressing issues of the day with contributions from local sisters who work in the community or ... fill in the blank yourself!
There is an optional Qur'an Khatam that will take place prior to the gathering.
The group khatam is a long-standing tradition in the Muslim world, a shared effort to read the entire Qur’an every month. Each sister will sign up at least one juz and will be responsible for reading it during that particular Islamic month.
At the end of the month, we will hold a group dua and various other activities. It is a beautiful way for a group of sisters to get together and make dua for one another and inspire love of Allah, the most beloved book, the Qur’an, and for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ibn Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Rasullullah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
“Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah is credited with one blessing and one blessing is equal to tenfold the like thereof in its reward. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one letter, but Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter and Meem is one letter.” (Tirmidhi)
Anyone is welcome to attend the gatherings and be a part of a blessed group that will encourage one to read Qur’an, praise our Creator and honour the best of all creation, peace and blessings be upon him.
First Session: Sunday 22 February 2015. Thereafter every last Sunday of the month.
Place: Dawson House (Next to YMCA), 1st Floor, Ladbrooke Road, Slough, SL1 2SR.
For women and children only. Young boys are welcome to attend, but please note that boys over the age of 10 should not be in attendance.
