Qur'an khatam & mawlid

Monthly Qur’an Khatam and Mawlid for Sisters

In this blessed month of Rabi al-Awwal, Khidma would like to launch the monthly group Qur’an Khatam and Mawlid for sisters.

The group Khatam is a long-standing tradition in the Muslim world, a shared effort to read the entire Qur’an every month. Each sister will sign up at least one juz and will be responsible for reading it during that particular Islamic month.

At the end of the month, we will hold a group dua and a Mawlid. It is a beautiful way for a group of sisters to get together and make dua for one another and inspire love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the most beloved book, the Qur’an.

Ibn Mas’oad (May Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Rasullullah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah is credited with one blessing and one blessing is equal to tenfold the like thereof in its reward. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one letter, but Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter and Meem is one letter.” (Tirmidhi)

Anyone is welcome to attend the gatherings and be a part of a blessed group that will encourage one to read Qur’an, praise our Creator and honour the best of all creation, peace and blessings be upon him.

First Session: Saturday 19th January. Thereafter every third Sat of the month.

Time: 7.30pm

Place: Dawson House, Ladbrooke Road, Slough, SL1 2SR

For women only. Children are welcome to attend, but please note that boys over the age of 10 should not be in attendance.

Instructions for those who wish to partake in the Qur'an Khatam

If you would like to take part in this month's Khatam, please click on the link below, add your name and email next to the juz(s) you have assigned yourself. Please may we request that you complete one month’s Qur'an Khatam first before assigning one in the following month.

Please make your commitment here. Any changes to the spreadsheet are automatically saved.

Remember signing up for a Khatam is an amanah. If you are unable to complete your juz please ask a family member/close friend to help complete it. If you are unable to find an alternative reader then please let us know ASAP.

Pace yourself, aim to read a page a day and you will complete it before the deadline, inshAllah. Don't wait until the end of the month to read it.

Once you have committed to a juz, you will be emailed list of intentions to read before you begin.

May Allah Ta'ala reward you all.
